‘Helping your clients better understand the 3 pillars for positive weight change’ with Shane Warren

During this webinar interview, Shane will share with you his insights into helping clients achieve healthy and positive weight change through his 3 pillars for positive weight management; key areas that he has refined during the course of his 23 years helping people to bring about positive change.

When working with people in the area of weight management Shane likes to look at three aspects:

(i) introduction of a gentle exercise program – gentle is subjective to all individuals and often something we need to encourage them to do after a more weight loss intensive program. As you would no doubt also experience, many clients “hate exercise” so finding a gentle program that works for them will (more often than not) result in the program being followed;

(ii) healthy diet – like every health focused service we need to be practical and acknowledge one will never really have a healthy weight level on a diet of saturated fat and processed sugar. At the same time, we need to find balance and solutions that provide flexibility and sustainability tailored towards individualised client needs; and

(iii) positive frame of mine – which is often the most important factor. It is in this area Shane spends a lot of time helping people establish reasonable goals for their weight, looks at their eating motivations and helps them to find some real inner happiness (there is a lot to be said about being truly happy and being weight healthy).
