Menopause should be a time of celebrating a new life as a vibrant, older woman but to do this we need to shift from old stereotypes. These old stereotypes position women to accept a lesser role in society and personally. As a part of this, women consider weight gain and a weaker, less healthy body, as the norm when this is far from the truth and the possibilities. It’s time to reclaim the positives aging brings and not accept the old truths that suffering from osteoporosis, diabetes, and heart disease amongst others, is inevitable, even that weight gain and being less attractive is ‘just how it goes’.

By following a few simple proactive steps during the changes menopause brings, women can emerge better than ever and look forward to moving through their next phase of life feeling capable, vibrant and energetic.

About Vashti:
Vashti’s passion for fitness and health stemmed back to her early teenage years when she overplayed her mother’s Jane Fonda cassette and wished she too had cool leg warmers and a Farrah Fawcett hairstyle.This led her to becoming a qualified trainer while at high school.

She has seen some fantastic changes in the fitness industry and more public interest in everyday fitness. Over the years she has taught all varieties of group classes, trained primary and high school children, older adults and athletic groups and those with physical and mental disabilities.

As she and her parents have aged, she has developed a real passion to show older adults what an amazing improvement that daily exercises and nutrition adjustments can have on every aspect of their lives. In addition to fitness, Vashti has also qualifications in massage, makeup artistry and nutrition coaching.
